What are Full Mouth Dental Implants?

Full mouth dental implants are a long-term tooth replacement option for people who have lost or are losing their teeth. The surgery involves the removal of any remaining teeth and between four and six implants are placed in each jaw.

These are then used to support a complete fixed arch of prosthetic teeth, which you may see referred to in a few different ways including prostheses, arches, and bridges. With New Life Teeth, this is all completed in a day and you leave the surgery with your first set of prosthetic teeth in place.

This treatment offers the most reliable and durable permanent tooth replacement option for our patients.

Zirconia or PMMA?

Full Mouth Dental Implants have 2 main components; The implants which are placed in the jaw bone and the prosthetic teeth which permanently attach to the implants.

Most of the questions and confusion surround the material used for the final prosthetic teeth.

The reason there has been confusion for patients is there is a relatively new material called Zirconia, which has started to gain popularity amongst patients and clinics alike because it has shown major improvements in biocompatibility, durability, stability, and more when compared to other options like PMMA (plastic).

The confusion comes when clinics that still only offer PMMA try to market their prostheses as the best option when there are publicly available clinical studies that show Zirconia to be a significant step forward in implant dentistry.

It’s our goal to put an end to this confusion.  We understand that as a clinic that offers you only our Prettau Teeth Forever Zirconia final teeth, you may rightfully think that we are biased, that’s why we have put together a comprehensive breakdown which only cites external information from trusted clinics and public medical studies. We Love Complex Cases

While a standard approach to full mouth dental implants is common for 95% of patients, some patients present additional challenges requiring advanced planning and techniques. These complex cases often involve patients with severe bone loss, anatomical variations, or medical conditions that complicate standard implant procedures. Unlike other providers, we can treat all complex cases. Key identifiers of a complex case are:

  • Severe bone atrophy: Patients with significant bone loss in the upper or lower jaw may require additional techniques such as the use of zygomatic or pterygoid implants.

  • Compromised bone quality: Patients with poor bone density or quality may need modified surgical techniques or longer healing periods.

  • Anatomical challenges: Variations in sinus position, nerve location, or jaw shape can necessitate careful planning and potentially alternative implant positions.

  • Periodontal issues: A history of severe periodontal disease may complicate treatment and require additional preparatory procedures.

  • Medical conditions: Certain systemic diseases, such as uncontrolled diabetes or autoimmune disorders, can affect healing and implant success rates.

  • Smoking: Heavy smokers may face an increased risk of implant failure and require special considerations.t care at every visit

  • Previous failed implants: Patients who have had unsuccessful implant treatments may need revised approaches and additional interventions. We often get cases of people who have been abroad for this surgery and now have issues with implant or teeth failure - these cases are extremely complex and are dealt with on a case-by-case basis. Please speak to our team if this is your current situation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some answers to the most frequently asked questions.. Click on the headers below to find out more.

Who are New Life Teeth?

New Life Teeth was established over 12 years ago by renowned dental implantologist. Dr Stuart Lutton. We are a team of highly experienced dental surgeons, clinicians, nurses, patient co-ordinators , designers and lab technicians, dedicated to delivering Zirconia Full Jaw Rehabilitation to the highest standards.

Why are full mouth dental implants better than wearing dentures?

Dentures are removable and have to be taken out a night. Dentures are uncomfortable and lead to bone tissue shrinkage if worn on a long term basis. The New Life Teeth Zirconia full mouth fixed teeth on implants is a permanent and final solution which means that you should not experience further bone loss and gum disease from the point of surgery.

Are Full Mouth Implants Available on the NHS?

No, the NHS do not provide this treatment.

What guarantees do you give patients?

We have a 5 year biological warranty on the implants and a 15 year mechanical warranty on the Zirconia teeth. These warranties are better than any other UK provider.

Are Full Jaw Dental Implants expensive?

Dental implants represent one of the most cost-effective teeth replacement options in the long term because they can last for many years. At New Life Teeth we offer the most cost effective Zirconia Full Jaw Implants for £16,500. If you are worried about the initial dental implant costs, ask us about our finance plans allowing you to spread the cost of treatments over many months.

Do You Do All On 4?

Yes we do All on 4 and All on 6. We use the appropriate number of implants for each individual patient

How long is the whole process?

From your surgery appointment it is 8 weeks to getting your final Zirconia teeth.

What are the teeth made of?

Your final teeth are made from the strongest Zirconia on a titanium subframe. We are the only UK provider offering these superior teeth at an affordable price.

Does it hurt?

At New Life Teeth you are in safe and highly capable hands. Every detail of your treatment is painstakingly planned beforehand using the latest computerised technology. Therefore, when it comes to placing your implants we are able to carry out the procedure causing you little or no discomfort. We provide you with conscious sedation during the procedure at no additional cost. As with all extensive dental treatments, some patients will experience post-operative tenderness in the mouth and swelling for a few days after the procedure, but this is completely normal. Full pre and post-operative medications and instructions are provided by our clinical team to help with any discomfort and our clinically trained patient co-ordinators will be available to help you through the healing process.

What if an implant fails?

At New Life Teeth we have a 98% implant success rate. In the unlikely event that an implant fails we will replace it for you.

Can I drive after surgery?

No. Because we will be sedating you during your surgery you will be unable to drive home. All patients must be accompanied to their surgery and back home afterwards.

How Long is the surgery?

Surgery lasts approximately 1.5 hours for a single jaw and 2.5 hours for both jaws. Once your surgery is complete you will be taken to your patient suite where you can relax and recover while your bespoke initial prosthesis is made in our on-site lab which takes approximately 1 hour. You will then be fitted with your first set of teeth leaving the clinic with a new smile!

What happens at my Free Clinical Assessment?

You will have a one hour appointment with one of our Full Jaw Implant Surgeons. You will have CBCT scans, Intra-oral scans and facial photographs and videos taken. With this data we will analyse your current dental situation and provide you with a costed treatment plan.

Do you do Zygomatic Implants?

Yes we often place Zygomatic implants for our more complex cases. We use Zygomatic implants when there is not enough bone for ordinary dental implants. A Zygomatic implant is longer than ordinary dental implants and engage the strong, dense bone that forms the cheekbone.

Do you do Bone Grafts?

Yes. If your jawbone isn’t thick enough, a bone graft or augmentation may be required. Depending on your needs, this could take place before or during your full jaw implant procedure. During your free clinical assessment our specialist surgeon will let you know if bone augmentation is required and talk through your treatment options. We know the procedure may sound daunting, but it’s fairly common and our specialist team will support you through the entire process.

I have been told I need a sinus lift. Do you do this?

Yes. A sinus lift increases the amount of bone in the upper jaw by adding space between molars and premolars. During your free clinical assessment our specialist surgeon will let you know if a sinus lift is required and talk through your treatment options.

Cosmetic Dental Treatments

While we’re known for our full mouth dental implants, all our dental centres also provide a number of other essential treatments and services geared towards making your smile the best it can be.
