Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some answers to the most frequently asked questions.. Click on the headers below to find out more.

Am I too old/young for full mouth dental implants?

The good news is that age alone rarely prevents someone from getting dental implants. What truly matters is your overall health and jawbone condition. At New Life Teeth, we've successfully treated adult patients of all ages, creating personalized treatment plans that consider each person's unique situation. During your free clinical assessment, our experienced surgeons will evaluate whether implants are right for you, if you are under 40, it is likely we will recommend a sectional approach rather than full mouth implants, however if we still think the best clinical option is full mouth rehabilitation we will advise that.

What if I've been told I'm not suitable for implants?

We hear this concern often, and we're pleased to say we frequently help patients who've been turned away elsewhere. At New Life Teeth, we specialize in complex cases and offer advanced solutions like zygomatic implants that many clinics don't provide. Thanks to our innovative techniques and experienced surgical team, we can treat most patients who come to us – even those who've been told implants weren't possible for them.

Can I get implants if I have gum disease?

Having gum disease doesn't mean you can't have dental implants. We routinely help patients with periodontal conditions achieve their dream smile. We'll need to treat the gum disease first to create the best foundation for your implants, but this is all part of your customized treatment plan. During your free clinical assessment, we'll examine your gums and discuss the best approach for your specific situation. Many of our most successful cases started exactly where you are now.

Will implants work if I've been wearing dentures for many years?

Absolutely! Many of our most successful cases are patients who've worn dentures for years. While long-term denture use can lead to bone loss, our innovative techniques, including zygomatic implants and our Teeth Forever® Bridge system, are specifically designed to help. We can transform your smile from removable dentures to permanent, fixed teeth that look and feel natural – even if you've been told you don't have enough bone for traditional implants.

Is there enough bone in my jaw for implants?

This is one of the most common concerns we hear, and we have good news. Even if you've experienced bone loss, we have several solutions available. During your free clinical assessment, we'll use detailed CBCT scans to evaluate your bone structure. If traditional implants aren't suitable, we can use specialized techniques like zygomatic implants or our proprietary Teeth Forever® Bridge system, which often allows us to avoid bone grafting altogether. We pride ourselves on finding solutions where others can't.

What medical conditions might prevent me from getting implants?

While most medical conditions don't automatically rule out implants, some may require special consideration. Conditions like uncontrolled diabetes, severe osteoporosis, or ongoing cancer treatment might affect your treatment plan. During your free assessment, we'll review your medical history thoroughly and work with your healthcare providers if needed. Our experienced team has successfully treated patients with various medical conditions by creating carefully tailored treatment plans.

Can I get implants if I smoke?

Yes, though smoking can affect healing and long-term success. Our teams have successfully treated many smokers, but we'll work with you to minimize risks. You must stop smoking for at least four weeks before surgery and throughout the initial healing period, and we highly recommend stopping for good. We'll discuss this during your consultation and can provide resources to help you  quit smoking if desired. Your long-term health is our priority.

What if I have diabetes?

Having diabetes doesn't prevent you from getting dental implants. The key is ensuring your diabetes is well-managed. During your consultation, we'll review your recent health records and may consult with your doctor. Many of our successful patients have diabetes – the important factor is maintaining good blood sugar control before and during the healing process. We'll work closely with you to ensure the safest, most effective treatment approach.

What if I grind my teeth at night?

Teeth grinding doesn't prevent you from getting implants. We've thought this through carefully – our Prettau Zirconia teeth are incredibly durable and resistant to wear. We'll also provide a protective night guard if needed. Best of all, our 15-year mechanical warranty covers your new teeth even if you grind them, giving you complete peace of mind about your investment.

How much do full mouth dental implants actually cost?

We believe in complete transparency with our pricing. Single jaw treatment starts at £12,000, while full mouth (both jaws) begins at £16,500. Complex cases may range from £18,000 to £24,500. This investment includes everything you need: the Prettau Zirconia Bridge, IV sedation, 4-6 implants per jaw, and our industry-leading 15-year warranty. We understand this is a significant investment, which is why we offer flexible financing options to make it more accessible.

What's included in the quoted price?

Everything you need for your new smile is included in our price – no surprises. Is the IV sedation included in the cost?

Yes, unlike many other providers, we include IV sedation in your treatment cost. We believe comfortable, anxiety-free treatment shouldn't come at an extra price. Our sedation is administered by qualified professionals who will ensure you're relaxed and comfortable throughout your procedure. This is part of our commitment to making your journey as smooth and stress-free as possible.

What happens if an implant fails - who covers the cost?

Your investment is protected by our comprehensive warranty program. We provide a 5-year biological warranty on implants and a 15-year mechanical warranty on your Zirconia teeth - the longest warranty period in the UK and Ireland. If an implant fails within the warranty period, we'll replace it at no cost to you, provided you've followed our aftercare instructions. With our 98% success rate, implant failure is rare, but we want you to feel completely secure in your investment.

Does insurance cover any part of this procedure?

Private dental insurance may cover a portion of the treatment, but coverage varies significantly between providers and policies. We recommend checking with your insurance provider about specific coverage. Our treatment coordinators can provide detailed treatment plans and cost breakdowns to help you discuss coverage with your insurer. We can also help you explore our financing options to cover any portion not covered by insurance.

Is this treatment available on the NHS?

No, full mouth dental implants aren't currently available on the NHS. While the NHS may offer some basic dental implant treatments in very specific circumstances, comprehensive full mouth reconstruction with dental implants is only available privately. We understand this represents a significant investment, which is why we offer various financing options to make treatment more accessible to those who need it.

What happens at my Free Clinical Assessment?

You will have a one hour appointment with one of our Full Jaw Implant Surgeons. You will have CBCT scans, Intra-oral scans and facial photographs and videos taken. With this data we will analyse your current dental situation and provide you with a costed treatment plan.

Do you do Zygomatic Implants?

Yes we often place Zygomatic implants for our more complex cases. We use Zygomatic implants when there is not enough bone for ordinary dental implants. A Zygomatic implant is longer than ordinary dental implants and engage the strong, dense bone that forms the cheekbone.

Do you do Bone Grafts?

Yes. If your jawbone isn’t thick enough, a bone graft or augmentation may be required. Depending on your needs, this could take place before or during your full jaw implant procedure. During your free clinical assessment our specialist surgeon will let you know if bone augmentation is required and talk through your treatment options. We know the procedure may sound daunting, but it’s fairly common and our specialist team will support you through the entire process.

I have been told I need a sinus lift. Do you do this?

Yes. A sinus lift increases the amount of bone in the upper jaw by adding space between molars and premolars. During your free clinical assessment our specialist surgeon will let you know if a sinus lift is required and talk through your treatment options.
